Pro302 — The Color Of Money: A Guide To University Funds
A conversion of UF's three-hour live introductory finance training into a 90-minute, WCAG-compliant Storyline course — part of the PRO3 Fiscal Certification — so fiscal employees can complete it anytime.
Course DesignThe Problem
This required training for fiscal employees needed to move online to meet staffing needs, but the live format and sheer volume of content made a direct conversion impractical.
Design Story
I gathered handouts, slide decks, and training recordings, then partnered with SMEs to validate and refine the content into a comprehensive online module. The Pro3 conversion approach was co-developed with a colleague, Kandice.
Complexity
The live session ran three hours of dense material. I synthesized and prioritized the essentials into a 90-minute course that's complete, accessible, and engaging for thousands of learners.
The Designed Solution
A 90-minute Storyline 360 course that fully replaces the live training and serves as a durable reference, with the material chunked into “Allowable,” “Reasonable,” and “The Why.”
Design Decisions
- Compiled and summarized existing materials into a thorough topic analysis, then reduced to essentials.
- Used AI to synthesize information and accelerate drafting (ChatGPT, Adobe Firefly, the Articulate AI Assistant).
- Kept it engaging and accessible with knowledge checks, video, click-to-interact elements, and branching scenarios — all under strict WCAG compliance.
The Result
A well-designed asynchronous course that saves time while giving learners the context they need to do their jobs well.
Impact
New and existing employees get 24/7 access to foundational training — freeing managers' time, reducing fiscal errors, and speeding up onboarding.
Outcome
A complete, engaging, accessible module; 163 learners to date, as part of the PRO3 Fiscal Certification.
