Implementing Wix Analytics In Public Canvas: Video Guide
A scripted, studio-produced video walkthrough showing designers how to capture usage analytics in public-access Canvas courses by embedding Wix pages.
ProductionThe Problem
Canvas doesn't collect usage data in public-access courses, so designers had no way to see how their open content was being used.
Design Story
After designing the analytics workaround, I realized the team needed a visual, repeatable guide — so I produced a video they could follow while applying it to their own courses.
Complexity
We had no in-house video producer, and designers' technical levels varied. A high-quality recorded walkthrough was the most efficient way to standardize adoption.
The Designed Solution
A scripted, studio-lit instructional video — talking head plus screen recordings, planned across a 28-shot list — that walks designers through embedding an invisible Wix iframe to capture Canvas page analytics.
Design Decisions
- Produced it myself to control quality and reduce cost.
- Combined camera shots and screen recordings for instructional clarity.
- Sought expert feedback throughout to ensure a polished deliverable.
The Result
A reusable, high-quality training asset that pairs learner analysis with practical application.
